The Palace Theatre opened May 9, 1909. It lasted until at least the 1940’s in West Asheville. It is just a few blocks down from the Isis Theater.
The building still stands and currently houses a Latino grocery store. Outside you can still see the outline for the ticket booth in the decorative sidewalk tile pattern.
The old city directory has the address listed as 789 Haywood Road but the current building has 791 posted.
