The Wilson Theater

Opened in 1919 as a vaudeville theatre, the Wilson Theatre later began showing movies. It was renovated on August 21, 1935 to the plans of architect E.H. Geissler. By 1969 it was operated by H.B, Meiselman Theatres chain. It ended its days as a movie house showing adult films. In the late-1980’s, it reopened as a performing arts center, the Wilson Theatre for the Arts, today known as the Edna Boykin Cultural Center.
