Edna Boykin Cultural Center

Opened in 1919 as a vaudeville theatre, the Wilson Theatre later began showing movies. It was renovated on August 21, 1935 to the plans of architect E.H. Geissler. It ended its days as a movie house showing adult films. In the late-1980’s, it reopened as a performing arts center, the Wilson Theatre for the Arts, today known as the Edna Boykin Cultural Center.
