AMC had 22 cents popcorn on its opening and Consolidated Theatres responded with free popcorn at its Arboretum Cinemas. Ads posted.

Opened on May 10,1996 under American Multi-Cinemas(AMC Theatres).

Big summer movies 1997 “BATMAN and ROBIN”, “SPEED 2”,“BUDDY”, “SLINGBLADE” [still heldover here}.“AP,MAN OF MYSTERY”.“THE LOST WORLD” was played on three screens during it first few weeks. and “TRIAL and ERROR” played here.Sony Dynamic Digital sound and Digital Surround sound were offered in some of the Theatres. Were are all the Charlotte folks to comment on these Charlotte Theatres.seems like Columbia,S.C. no one seems to care.

This was the first megaplex and the first stadium seating theater in the Charlotte area when it opened in the mid 90’s. Since that time just about every theater in the area has been built with stadium seating or been remodeled to include it.
