Standard AMC 24-plex, with 10 screens left, 10 screens right, and the 4 largest screens in the center. All rooms have digital sound, originally all SDDS with a few Dolby Digital and DTS in the larger rooms. Not sure of the current set up.
One moderate sized room has digital projection equipped for 3-D.
Many of the rooms have Torus screens.
Located within sight of the Ohio State University football stadium, this theatre does an excellent business with the college students. A bus runs from campus to the theatre and its adjoining shopping center.
Called the LENNOX because this location used to be a plant for Lennox heating and cooling equipment.
One of the largest grossing theatres in the area.
This theatre will be adding a Digital IMAX unit in theater 12 in time for the September opening of CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS. This is one of the 4 large theatres directly off the lobby. I was told the screen would be slightly larger than the screen at AMC EASTON 30.
Another IMAX light installation.
I have heard that IMAX is thinking about differentiating between the various flavors of IMAX. Some of the names they are considering are:
IMAX Grand
Imax Traditional
The Original IMAX Experience
IMAX Digital
The current multiplex installations are fine for what they are, but they pale in comparison to original IMAX on a 60' by 80' screen!
Digital Imax, installed in Theatre 12, opened on 10/2/09 with CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS. A large IMAX sign has been put up on the west end of the theatre building.
Bar coming to Lennox 24.
From the Columbus Dispatch, 3/2/12:
AMC Entertainment will open a bar at its Lennox Town Center theater this month.
The Kansas City-based movie-theater chain is also planning to open a restaurant at its Easton theater, though the opening date is not yet available.
AMC has added the “MacGuffins” bar concept to about 20 of its 347 theaters in the United States and Canada, said spokesman Ryan Noonan.
The Lennox Town Center location, which is near Grandview Heights, will have chairs and stools to provide customers with a place to meet before or after a show. Customers can also order drinks and take them into the auditoriums.
“It’s another opportunity for us to provide more options to guests,” Noonan said.
The company lists an Easton restaurant on the “coming soon” area of its website. No further information was provided.
Dolby Cinema added in Spring, 2019.
Great news about the Dolby Cinema upgrade. Couldn’t stand having to deal with parking at Easton. Especially during the month of December. Stinking Disney releasing Star Wars during the holidays…
