This is the hottest area for current movie houses and adaptive reuse of old historical theaters. Single screen theaters at the Studio 35, Wexner Center for the Arts, and close by Grandview are still open in 2023 and the reopened Phoenix Lennox Center 24 was rescued from permanently closing. The Gateway Film Center is still the best source of foreign, independent, retrospective, and documentary films. The Garden and old State, now the Newport Music Hall continues for audiences interested in live performances.
