Texas Theater ... Temple Texas

The Texas Theater in Temple was housed in a very old tan brick building that was probably pretty nice until someone took some ugly brown paint to it. It had the familiar inverted V-shaped marquee that was white with no trim color. “Texas” was spelled out on both sides in black letters accented with neon.

Looks like all the old comments got deleted from this theater.

Here’s what the theater looks like today. It’s the left half of the building shown, with the wood and glass facade. On S. First St, just South of Central Ave.

Silicone Sam is correct. Something happened to the comments. Hard to believe that Temple did not save the Texas Theater.

This building still stands and has been converted into retail space.
