The Sunset Drive-In was opened in 1947 and closed in 1970. Jake Webb is credited with being the owner and operator of the drive-in.
Little remains of the drive-in save for the ramps and outline of the property. For a time, some buildings sat on the front portion, but they have been removed.

After doing a little more research, I am about 90% positive that this was the theater we saw most of our movies at. I lived in Temple from 1949 to 1956 (age 6 – 13.) I remember that there as a shoe factory near-by. Another wonderful memory of a bygone era. To paraphrase Rose, (Titanic,) “It exists now only in my memory.” Mom, Dad, two sisters and I had some great evenings here.
