I do know the Dream Theater stopped showing movies well before it officially closed. The opening of a six screen indoor theater would be considerable competition for anyone interested in reopening the Dream Theater as a movie house.
The Dream Theatre actually opened on October 16, 1947 with Jimmie Wakely in “West Of The Alamo”, along with a Bob Wills short, and a serial.
I currently live in Tahlequah and unfortunately the dream is now closed and in need of some TLC if anyone was interested in fixing it up. I will try to add a current picture soon.
Thanks Joe.
The domain name of the Dream Theatre’s official web site is now for sale. The old official web site is back up, but the man page says only “Currentland is coming soon!” It has a link to The Current, a monthly publication. I have no idea what the connection is. In any case, the Dream Theatre appears to be closed, at least for now.
Though the main page of the old web site doesn’t link to it, one of its obsolete pages survives. It advertises a 2005 event, but it does feature two small photos of the auditorium.
From 2010 a photo of the Dream Theatre in Tahlequah.

Roadside Oklahoma presents recent snapshots of the Dream Theare.
The new Dream Theatre at Tahlequah was slated to open about May 20, according to Boxoffice of May 10, 1947. General manager of the new house, S.P. Doss, was the former owner of the Chief Theatre at Eufaula. The Dream was to seat 400 on opening.
The official web site link above no longer works. I think the place might have changed ownership. This might be the new web site, once it’s finished, but I can’t swear to it.
