Springs Rd NE at Jeffrey Ln Conover, NC 28613

The above address will map accurately to the location of the drive-in. The address provided by jwmovies is for the Hickory Drive-In, which was in a different location.

The Thunderbird Drive-In was also on Springs Rd, but was located ½ mile the the west.

The New-Con Drive-In Theatre was built in late 1948 opening by Judge Fred Hasty, Elmer Rouzer, and Bennie Alexander on Feb. 12, 1949 with “Trail of the Vigilantes.” It operated until 1967 when it was merged with the Springs Road Drive-In to create a new drive-in.

A closer address is 3825 Springs Rd NE, Conover, NC.

Google Maps has updated their addresses and this puts it right on the property.

Today, Sigmon’s Bark & Mulch operates on the property and all traces of the drive-in are gone.
