Opened as a single screen theater on September 27, 1984 in a building formerly occupied by a hardware store. It became a twin on February 5, 1988. The Flicks was expanded to four screens on January 24, 1997, and continues to be Boise’s only regular outlet for art and independent films. From the time of its opening, The Flicks has also included a bistro, serving beer, wine, and inexpensive food.
The Flicks also serves as a venue for both the True West Cinema Festival and for the Idaho International Film Festival.

Are the theatres at the Flicks small with 100 seats per cinema or is one larger then the other with a bigger screen? Looks like they are the only theatre in the Boise area that get art type films. To bad the other larger cinemas around town with giant screens and more seats don’t book these small type art films also. Some do very well by word of mouth with the seniors or students. Time for Landmark Cinemas to take over some place???
