The Mohawk Drive-In was opened on June 1, 1946 with Paul Henreid in “The Spanish Maine”. It was operated by Fabian Theaters. It closed on August 31, 1986 with Sean Penn in “Shanghai Surprise” & Goldie Hawn in “Wildcats”. It has been demolished and replaced by a Kohl’s department store.

Originally, there was a large American Indian (with an arrow ready to be fired from his bow) underneath the name Mohawk on the back of the screen. This was a very difficult drive-in to sneak into!
The Mohawk drive-in parked 600 cars and was owned by Fabian Theatres in 1956.
