Program for the Albany Regent, June 1917

The Regent Theatre was located on S. Pearl Street in Albany, New York, between Hamilton Street and Madison Avenue. It was opened on October 14, 1916 with Pauline Frederick in “The World’s Great Snare”. It was equipped with ‘a large organ’.

I have a program for the theatre from the week of March 5, 1917. It says performances were continuous from noon to 11 p.m., Monday through Saturday. It seems to be showing mostly Fox films. A row of townhouses now stand on the site.

Here’s a program from the week of June 18, 1917, featuring Theda Bara again. The theater had a movable roof that could convert it to an open-air theater on warm evenings.

The Regent theatre opened at 122-124 South Pearl on October 14th, 1916. Grand opening ad posted.
