The Kinema was opened on November 3, 1920. It was listed as (Closed) in 1939. Renamed Ward Theatre it was listed as (Closed) in 1940. It had was reopened by 1941. On January 15, 1946 it was renamed Carol Theatre. It was closed at the end of 1983.
In July 2014 the building was being renovated to become a community arts center. It had re-opened by 2018.

2008 & 2015 photos added. Facade has been restored. Apparently it was originally an indoor pool.

The Kinema opened November 3, 1920 on a 20-year lease.
