Rich Drive-In

Was opened as the Skyline Drive-In on May 30, 1947 with a car capacity listed at 350. On April 17, 1955 it was renamed Rich Drive-In and was owned by Mr. Van Anderson. It was located by the mountains on the west side of town.

Closed on August 27, 1974 with Laurence Olivier in “Sleuth”. It was later demolished, I-70 runs through where part of the drive-in once stood.

The Skyline Drive-In launched May 30, 1947. It was redone by new operator Van Anderson as the Rich Drive-In rebooting on April 17, 1955. It appears to have closed at the end of a 20-year lease on August 27, 1974 with “Sleuth.”

Boxoffice, July 17, 1948: “Another outdoor theatre, the Skyline Drive-In at Richfield, which failed to click last year, was understood to be about ready to change hands again. This and a small drive-in near Salt Lake were the only ozoners in the (Salt Lake City) area failing to attract big business”
