Nothing has been constructed on the property. It is all overgrown with trees. Only the entrance road is visible.
Also opened with “Calypso cruise” and “Pet peeve”.
This opened on August 12th, 1955

Approx. address for this drive-in was 4317 Glenwood Road.
The pictures are great. You must have taken these before digital cameras. I like the way you show the drive-in open and then deteriorating.
I think the entrance went to an area behind some apartments. I do not remember seeing the screen or parking area from the street.
Pretty easy to spot the old drive in, and the entrance was nowhere near the 4421 address. Even the old ads place it at 4347 (something like that, it’s hard to read such fine blurry print…) But 4347 maps directly to the old entrance.
Old entrance almost runs into Hollyhock Terrace once it gets to Glenwood Rd.
Glad you enjoyed them.
Thanks for the photos J.B. My mom and I drove by our old houses and the Glenwood was in between both. We could not really tell where it was at, not a clue. I lived off Glenwood as a toddler in the early ‘70’s. God Bless you all for keeping these memories alive!
Google maps place a China King and Payless Wireless store at this address but they have be known to be off.
Here is the entrance to the old Glenwood Drive-In. Nothing has been put in its place.

A Classic Drive-in.
Cool old ads and photos of the marquee.
Link to the Drive In ladder ad in the Atlanta paper on August 5, 1964. The blogger has also written up some of his memories of working at these places. Worth a look if you are interested in the drive in culture from 1970 – 1990.

Love the pictures. Last time I was in the area the marquee had been torn down but it appears nothing has been put in the space.
Here are two photo’s of The Grand Opening circa 1955.
