The Auto-Cine Drive-In was not only the first drive-in theatre in Peru, it was the first drive-in theatre to be built and opened in South America.
Located to the south of the city in the Santigo de Surco district. It opened in December 1953 with Will Rogers Jr. in “Story of Will Rogers”. It was designed by American architectural engineer and designer of many US drive-in’s Jack K. Vogel of Ohio.
It was closed in 1975.
Not to be confused with the Autocine Lima Park, which opened in October 2020 and has its own page on Cinema Treasures.

Opened in December 1953 with “The Story of Will Rogers”(Spanish language version?). Closed sometime in 1975 with “The Unforgettable party” demolished (date unknown?) . The site is now a bank(name unknown?).
