Located in the former Market Hall, the New Carlton Cinema opened on 22nd December 2006 with "Casino Royale". It replaced the former Carlton Cinema in the town which had closed in 2003.
Seating in the New Carlton Cinema is provided for 160 in the main screen and 60 in the Carlton Suite which has seating on sofas and armchairs and has a fully licenced bar. In late-2021 a third screen was added with seating for 41.
