Built in 1897 as the Town Hall, not a working town hall, but a meeting hall for social events etc. It was regularly screening silent films during World War I.
In 1939 it became a full time cinema known as the Picture House. By 1958 it had been re-named Empire Cinema which closed on 30th April 1960.
A stage was built in the auditorium and rooms were converted into dressing rooms and repertory seasons of plays were held in summer seasons, with films continuing until 1972.
Since 1973 it has operated as the Little Theatre and has undergone some refurbishment and alterations. In 2005, the exterior of the building was renovated.

Victor Harrison took over the lease in 1930, but it was acquired by Sadlers who owned the Regent hence the name change. In 2012 it underwent £45,000 worth of repairs and improvements to the building by landlords North Norfolk District Council and now has a digital projector, cafe and bar. Films continue to be shown on a regular basis.
