Closed on January 19, 1989.
Carroll Max Briggs and Rose Mary Triggs incorporated in 1972 to open this venue. It ran 15 years before closing up on January 19, 1989 with revenue falling from $385,000 to $222,000 between 1985 and 1988. The Triggs closed with “Rain Man,” “My Stepmother is an Alien,” “Hellraiser II,” “Naked Gun,” and “Land Before Time.”

A Wendy’s Hamburger Restaurant now occupies the old site of the Village Cinema.
This theatre was never actually known as Jerry Lewis Cinema. Before construction was completed on the theatre it was decided to call it the Norwood Village Cinema. It was locally known as just the Village Cinema. This was one of the best maintained and operated theatres in this area. It was family owned and operated.
