Located in the Spenard district in the south of Anchorage. The Center Theatre had seating provided all on a single floor. It was opened on February 29, 1956 with Lucille Ball in “Forever Darling”. It was closed in 1964.

Hello,
The centre theater was first in anchorage where the centre bowl is now and then in palmer..My parents managed the palmer theater until they had the airport one theatre in wasilla built..
I fanyone has photos of the palmer theater, please do post them..the link provided here is'nt coming up.

Center Theater was open in the 1950’s in Anchorage, AK on the SW corner of Spenard Road and (Minnesota Drive now). The theater no longer exists. Photo and map is way off (½/2014). An archive photo exists… http://vilda.alaska.edu/cdm/singleitem/collection/cdmg2/id/4523/rec/2
The Center theatre opened on February 29th, 1956 and its listings ended in 1964. Grand opening ad posted.
