I am not sure completely but I believe that this theater is still working how ever it has been converted from film to stage. If there was a way to get a full picture of the front I would be able to tell you. If it is the one I think it is it has been renamed Plaza Theater and is now the home of Paris Community Theater. It is a corner building if that at all helps. The adress is 30 North Plz (the adress given is only about a block west on 82. The street names change only around the plaza as it changes from Lamar on the east end to bonham on the west) I do work with PCT and have spoken to meny people about the history of the buliding I know that it once was a screen theater and had an upper balcony. There have been meny renevations. (Finding a wroking outlet is a challange). Please let me know I would love to fill in this beautiful building’s past.

Thanks for the correction panhandle. The Lamar did open in 1930 on Bonham St. Claude Musselman was responsible for opening most of the movie theaters in Paris.

The seating capacity was 452 downstairs and over a hundred upstairs.
As with so many other theaters, televison finished the Lamar off.

The Lamar was opened by Claude Musselman in 1930 at 202 Bonham st.
Bonham street is Highway 82, which goes directly through the city.
The theater structure still stands, but bit the dust as a theater
in 1963

The Google photo certainly looks like an old theater at 202 Bonham Street.
