The Cedar Rapids Drive-In opened in 1948. Capacity was 600 cars. It was part of the Central States circuit in the late-1940’s and early-1950’s. The Cedar Rapids Drive-In was closed on October 21, 1968 with Lucille Ball in “Yours, Mine and Ours” & Burt Lancaster in “The Scalphunters”.

A tornado took down the screen in 1965, but Kmart took down the theater in 1969.

The address you gave is for the Twixt Town drive in. It’s on the other side of town across from Kmart east.

Site is now a pizza restaurant(Zio Johno’s), and a beauty school(Capri College).
The Cedar Rapids Drive-In closed on October 21, 1968 with Lucille Ball in “Yours, Mine, and Ours” and Burt Lancaster in “The Scalphunters”, due to the construction of the nearby Cedar Rapids Twin Drive-In which opened the following year.
