The 150-seat Folly Theater was opened by 1927. J.A. Dunbar renamed it the Rex Theater in 1939. It was destroyed by fire on September 24, 1953, although it was still listed in the 1957 edition of Film Daily Yearbook.

This started life as the Folly Theatre as early as the 1920s, and was renamed the Rex Theatre in February 1939.
