Manchester Mall Cinema was opened by General Cinema as a single-screen theater on December 21, 1967, and was originally operated as a first run house. It was twinned on May 26, 1978, by dividing the auditorium lengthwise. From October 21, 1983 it was operated as a sub-run house by United Artists Theatres.

Despite a remodeling in 1989, the aging cinema was unable to compete with the modern multiplexes which were built in Fresno in the 1990’s, and was closed in December 1999. The building has since been remodeled to accommodate a variety of retail businesses.
