The Gillette Theatre was opened as a twin screen theatre around 1977 when it was operated by Bill Semple who also owned the Sky Hi Drive-In and the Pronghorn Theater. In 1983 Bill Semple sold the theatre to new operators who later added six more auditoriums for an 8-plex. It is owned and operated by Gillette Theatres who also owns the Ski Hi Cinema and the Northern Hills Cinemas in Spearfish, SD.
