The Ritz Theater was was housed in the downtown Naylor Hotel (later known as the Town House) and opened on April 1, 1927 with William Haines in “Slide Kelly, Slide”. It was adjacent to the Lyric Theater.
At some point the theater suffered a fire due to the highly flammable nitrate film used during that era. The fire was possibly spelled the end of Ritz Theater as it was closed on August 29, 1955 for hotel expansion.
