The Sutherland Park Drive-In opened July 21, 1950 with Jack Carson & Doris Day in “Romance on the High Seas”. It had a capacity for 500 cars. Operated by Famous Players, it closed at the end of the 1981 season.

You are right on the 500 cars in 1956 it was owned by F.P.C.C. so in the late 50’s it was open.

Its former site is now Forest Lawn elementary school, a park and some multi-family residential.
One unusual aspect I recall of the Sutherland Park is it was within line of sight of the Sundown Drive-In which was only a mile and a half or so to the east.
Closed after the 1981 season.
