A chronology of Omaha’s 70mm presentation history has recently been published. The Cinema Center is mentioned numerous times.

and now…it’s going to become a Gun Club! On April 30, 2015 it was announced that the Cinema Center Theater would be converted to a gun club. http://www.omaha.com/money/old-cinema-center-movie-theater-to-become-haven-for-gun/article_18e93ae4-2319-5020-a936-be7747d4c457.html It’s so sad to see it go, but, at least it wasn’t demolished for a parking lot!!

The Cinema Center theater has hosted 4 of my 10 film tributes here in Omaha Ne. PSYCHO with actress Janet Leigh attending was the first event I held there in 1994.Miss Leighs'daughter Kelly Curtis, saw PSYCHO for the first time at this event! GONE WITH THE WIND with actress Ann Rutherford (Careen O'Hara in the film) and a contingent of Civil War re enactors was the second event held there. MR.SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON, with Producer Frank Capra Jr. attending, was a salute to legendary director Frank Capra. PATTON was attended by the grandson of Gen.Patton, and was the first time the family had ever attended an event for that film! Go to my web site www.omahafilmevent.com to see photos from these and other events I have produced in Omaha Ne. that have attained international attention.
