The Roxy Theatre was located on Hobson Avenue at 7th Street, across the street from the Best Theatre. It was opened on June 10, 1934 with Lew Ayres in “Let’s Be Ritzy”. It was closed in 1953 and has been demolished.

The other theater was the Best, at 714 Hobson. It remains standing, in alternative use.

The Roxy theatre opened on June 10th, 1934, just 3 weeks after the Strand opened up. Grand opening ad posted.
