It appears that another building was constructed in front of the concession stand/projector booth between 1994 and 2004. This, despite the fact that there are square holes (which are now covered) in the front of the newer building which are commonly used for projectors.

Billboard, Aug. 30, 1952: “The Park Drive-In at Abilene, Tex., is undergoing extensive improvements, according to James Tharp, manager. Three new ramps are being installed to increase the parking space from 456 to 670 cars. New sound equipment also will be added.”

Nice Drive-In Junkyard. Could leave the cars show movies charge by the car seat.

I worked close to this theater and yes it seemed to have some pretty trashy stuff in 1980 and 81

The above address will map accurately to the location of the drive-in, which is now occupied by Mike’s Wrecking. The address in the header is off by several hundred feet.

Adult Film policy, wish you could go into more details,I worked for ABC THEATRES,{Southeast] and we always tried to stay clear of adult movies,I guess you mean X rated.that sure doesn’t sound like the ABC THEATRES i worked for until Plitt took over.
