Pastime Vaudeville Theater...Columbia South Carolina

The Pastime Vaudeville Theater was a vaudeville venue in the early-1900’s. It was located at 1438 Main Street. It later began to show movies. It was mentioned in a 1960 edition of Columbia’s State Newspaper but the life span of the Pastime Theatre is unknown. In 1915 the business was later moved across Main Street to #1415-1417 and became the Imperial Theatre and then Palmetto Theatre.

AKA the Rialto Theatre in the 1920s. Was sued for copyright when it didn’t have rights for a tune emanating from its player piano in 1927.

This opened on June 1st, 1915. Grand opening ad in the photo section.
