Historic Detroit.com says that the Fox Washington Theatre was designed by Frederick T. Barcroft, though it was for many years mistakenly attributed to Arland Johnson.

Such a beautiful building and it only lasted 15 years. Seems people were just as wasteful then as now.

Now demolished, was built 1913 and was closed or demolished in 1928, was located next to the Statler Hotel. When the Statler hotel added the 200 room expansion in 1916, it was created between the existing hotel and the Washington Theatre. Picture of Washington
