This was the second Famous Theater to operate in Birmingham, AL. It opened around 1927. In the 1950’s it operated as an African-American theater. By 1980 it was operating as an adult theater. The building has been converted to office space and apartments.

Bhamwiki’s Famous Theatre page has two photos of the house, a cropped version of one of which has already been uploaded to our photos page. An earlier Famous Theatre operated at 306 18th Street North around 1925.
