Opened as the Rego Theatre in 1935 and later changed to the Regal Theatre. Seating was listed at 479. The street that the theatre was located on was originally N. West Avenue and later changed to W. Dr. Martin Luther King Street. This was an African American Theatre.

The Regal Theatre closed in 1950 and has since been demolished.

I recall this theatre, and think I did go there a few times with some of my black friends, I recall that while it was most made up of blacks, there were whites that attended, it was a mix and we all got along
