The above address is incorrect.Approx. location of this drive-in was across from what is now CVS Pharmacy at Hwy 250 & Cnty Rd 250/70. That county road now runs through what used to be the drive-in, but orginally ran next to it.
5107 US-250, Mannington, WV 26582 will take you to right across the street of the old drive in. It is dead east of the McDonalds. Ramps are still faintly visible from the air.
Boxoffice, July 14, 1958: “Dr. and Mrs. C. P. Church … recently sold the Blackshere Drive-In … to Joe Carunchia and O. S. Carpenter, both former employes with Ted Laskey outdoor theatres at Fairmont and Morgantown.”
As others have said, the address in this listing is incorrect. 5100 Husky Highway is where this theatre was located. The field still remain empty.
The drive in was intact in a 1993 aerial, but demolished by 1997.
It was originally called the Blackshere Park Auto Theatre.
