Almost the entire area that the drive-in sat on is a baseball field and soccer pitch. There is no trace of the drive-in remaining.
In the March 2, 1970 issue of Boxoffice, Martin Theatres president C. L. Patrick announced that his company had acquired a bunch of theaters from Floyd Enterprises. Among them was the No. 1 in South Daytona.

The ACTUAL Closing date of the #1 Drive In…was the day AFTER Labor Day, 1978. I helped disassemble this Drive In; the parts were all taken to the Fun-Lan Drive In in Edgewater, Fl. (its gone too). The last movie shown? “Harper Valley P.T.A.” with Barbara Eden.
The school had been using the old concession building, a check with Google Earth reveals that its gone now as well, unknown demolition date. :(
This drive-in was located at what is now the Warner Christian Academy and the White Chapel Church.

The April 4th, 1951 grand opening ad has been posted in the photo page for this theatre.
