Almost the entire area that the drive-in sat on is a baseball field and soccer pitch. There is no trace of the drive-in remaining.

In the March 2, 1970 issue of Boxoffice, Martin Theatres president C. L. Patrick announced that his company had acquired a bunch of theaters from Floyd Enterprises. Among them was the No. 1 in South Daytona.

The ACTUAL Closing date of the #1 Drive In…was the day AFTER Labor Day, 1978. I helped disassemble this Drive In; the parts were all taken to the Fun-Lan Drive In in Edgewater, Fl. (its gone too). The last movie shown? “Harper Valley P.T.A.” with Barbara Eden.

The school had been using the old concession building, a check with Google Earth reveals that its gone now as well, unknown demolition date. :(

This drive-in was located at what is now the Warner Christian Academy and the White Chapel Church.

Approx. address is 1730 South Ridgewood Avenue near Bellewood Avenue.

i have it parking 600 cars in 1956 and owned that same year by N.N.Bernstein, Floyd ran the other Drive-in Town,so they could have bought this screen later.
