The Big Tree Twin theater underwent a change in ownership over the years. In 1979, Floyd Theatres assumed control, followed by Carmike Cinemas in 1992. Unfortunately, it ceased operations on March 5th, 1998. (rewritten by AI)
Two screens on April 3rd, 1981. Another ad posted.
Jim Brown Starred in “100 Rifles” I found a one sheet at the MILLER Theatre in Augusta where the Management had covered up a section of Welch and Brown in a Hug.Wonder if the Folks in Florida did the same thing.I left the one-sheet just the way they left it with the paper still on.
Gosh — why can’t anybody go to Daytona Beach and take a picture of the theatre? Oh wait — I did… which is way more useful than knowing the theatre opened playing the Raquel Welch and Burt Reynolds opus 100 Rifles.

Okay, troll.
Opening picture: 100 Rifles.

Michael,
If this the actual opening date, why can’t you tell us the opening picture?
And why don’t you tell us where you got this date – what is your proof? And if you will not, what are you saving it for?

The Big Tree opened on April 24, 1969.
I moved to the area back in 1996 when the theatre was still open. the charge was only 99cents for films that were out about 3 months earlier. the place was located in the back corner of a shopping center not visable from the parking lot. A furnature store took over the site about 2 years ago. the theatre had the worst popcorn i ever had in any theatre. the butter was like watered down to make it a soggy mess lol
