The Ardmore Theatre was opened on August 10, 1945 with Lucille Ball in “Best Foot Forward”. Seating listed at 426. It was closed on November 28, 1947 and became a cafe. Later used as a Post Office which closed in 1962. It was demolished in 1992.

When I was little, the building at this address was a Kroger grocery store. It is now a diner. I never knew it had been a theater. Hope someone can find a picture.

The Ardmore Theater was located at 120 South Hawthorne Rd. It opened August 10 1945 and the first film shown was Best Foot Forward starring Lucille Ball. In 1948 the US Post Office took over the space and remained there until 1962. That entire block was demolished 30 years later.
