An anchor of the Palm Springs Shopping Center, the Dolphin featured Ultravision projection technology, a 42-foot curved screen, and rocking-chair seats. Opening date was June 11, 1971, with "Ryan’s Daughter." By 1985 the Dolphin Theatre had closed, soon converted to a Home Depot warehouse.
The Dolphin’s lifespan was almost simultaneous with ABC Florida State’s Ultravision twin theatre in Deerfield Beach, FL, approximately 25 miles south.

The Dolphin’s eventual closing marked the end of ABC Florida State/Plitt Theatres' decades-long presence in the Palm Beaches.
