The Lincoln Theatre opened on February 2, 1928 (not to be confused with an earlier Lincoln Theatre at Louisiana Street and LaSalle). It was located on Washington Avenue at Freret Street. (Odd the Lincoln on Washington). This was an African American Theatre and was operated by Jadel Theaters Corporation Inc.
The Lincoln Theatre was closed on October 10, 1968 with Richard Widmark in “Madigan” & “Stewart Granger in "Red Wagon”. It was demolished in 1974.

I found a Lincoln Theatre in New Orleans mentioned in Boxoffice of July 4, 1966. No address was given so I don’t know if it was this Lincoln Theatre, but it could have been.
Also, Washington is currently misspelled in the address field above. Washingtin sounds like it would be the punch line in a joke about a Model T Ford.

The History of the Neighborhood Theaters in New Orleans
is being written by 89-year-old Rene Brunet, the dean of the motion picture industry in Louisiana, and New Orleans historian and preservationist Jack Stewart. The 160-page,coffee table book will be released in November and is being published by Arthur Hardy Enterprises, Inc. Attention will be focused on 50 major neighborhood and downtown theaters, culled from a list of nearly 250 that have dotted the cityâ€\s landscape since the first “nickelodeon†opened in 1896 at 626 Canal Street. The book will be divided by neighborhoods and will open with a map and a narrative about each area. Each major theater will feature “then and now†photographs, historic information, and a short series of quotes from famous New Orleanians and from regular citizens who will share their recollections.
