Please update, the official name is Showcase Cinemas de Lux Cross County 10
Total seats 945, it was recently renovated with recliners.
This was a standard National Amusements that was built in the early 1990’s
Also I have to report, their seating is fantastic now. Been going to this theater a lot recently and I enjoy the recliners. They definitely improved the lobby as well (I do miss the old movie posters and remember the old layout of the lobby but they kept the integrity.) The arcade, which use to sit on the right wing of the theater lobby (where they added a bar) is now behind the ticket booth in the left wing of the lobby.
Ah I wasn’t aware it was the same company. My understanding was that Showcase was Sony and that National Amusement was owned by CBS. My mistake, thank you!
Having worked as a projectionist for National Amusements for 21 years, I can tell you they only used National Amusements mostly in the Northeast. They used Showcase Cinemas every where else. Same company
Showcase Cinemas is National Amusements.
This theater was recently bought out by Showcase. It’s no longer owned by National Amusement and they changed the name to Cross County Showcase Cinema. The seating was always terrible at this theater, but in its own way, it did carve out memories for me.
Work began today on the recliner installation…
Supposed to start adding in recliners here later this month…
College Point Multiplex is on CT as being in Flushing.
Recliners are coming here next year as per their website. Also coming to their College Point, NY location…could not find that theater listed on this site under both College Point and Whitestone, NY…
This opened on November 5th, 1993. Its grand opening ad can be found in the photo section.
:) Wow. Wonder if old employees every check this out?
National Amusements parking lots are truly a sight to behold. I can never get a picture of them that truly captures their unnecessary vastness.
What an apt description. One of the more boring NA cookie cutter theatres. Nothing special here…except for the parking.
