The Pal Theatre was opened in 1960. It replaced an older Pal Theatre opened elsewhere in 1935. The style listed for the theater was Art Moderne. The theater continued as a movie theater through the end of the 1960’s.
After the theater closed as a movie house it was renovated by the Jenkins Co. Development Authority and has been operated as the Olde Pal Theater & Civic Center. The most recent renovation to the theater was on March 28, 2007 when a new marquee was installed.

Last time I drove the Pal it was closed and i figured it would never reopen. In Louisville,Ga. there is a PAL theatre there that the last time I got that way was serving a meal and a movie.
That’s definitely not a 1935 facade. I assume it got a remodel maybe 1950-60?
Seth, I’ve just found out that there are two Pal Theatres in Millen. This one here is the second Pal Theatre that opened in 1960 that replaced the first one, which had been operating since April 8, 1935. According to a December 1959 article by the Millen News, there was an article that reads “Pal Theatre’s New Home Underway” which shows that the theater had been relocated to a newer building in its current address in 1960, with 626 seats (476 in the main pit and 170 in the balcony), and a screen measuring 15ftx24ft.
This should be named “Pal Theatre (2)” under previous names. The first one will have its own CT page soon.
The newer Pal Theatre originally housed 626 seats when it opened its relocated location.
