Not far from Augusta, Georgia is the town of Millen, Georgia and unlike a lot of smaller towns outside of Augusta, this town had two drive-in theatres. The Jenks Drive-In was your typical small town drive-in, but unlike Augusta, one would need a supply bug spray in the summer, Millen being below the Fall line, has swarms of Georgia gnats and how anyone in July could enjoy a movie there, well, they would have to be a local.
The Jenks Drive-In, none the less, parked a nice size of 350 cars, one of the larger drive-ins outside Augusta. It was owned by Pal Amusement Co. which owned quite a few South Georgia theatres. I would assume it stayed open to the 1960’s at least.
