Located in the Sydney suburban beach resort of Manly. The Manly Twin Cinemas were built in 1987 on the site of the Odeon Manly (former Embassy Theatre), opposite the Manly Wharf and ferry terminal. The twin screen cinema opened December 26, 1987 with seating for 235 and 101.
The independently operated cinema became known as the Manly Cinemas, programming tends to be up-market first-run and independent movies, with additional classic film screenings. The auditoriums are THX certified and have stadium seating. In late-2010, a third screen was added in adjoining premises. The Manly Cinemas was closed in September 2013 due to a dispute with the Hong Kong based owner of the building and the cinema operator.
