Britannia Drive-In did open 1948 and close in 1997. It start as single screen theatre and was expanded to a twin screen theatre in the 60’s. I managed Britannia Drive-In from April/82 to Sept/84. It was owned by Twinex/20th Century which also owned the Airport Drive-In and Britannia Cinema Six, both in Ottawa and other theatres across Canada. Britannia Cinema Six was an indoor theatre built on the corner of the drive-in property.

Was this Drive-in called BRITANNIA HEIGHTS Drive-in in the late 50’s. That drive-in parked 500 cars and was owned by Twinex which ran quite a few screens in Ontario.

This drive-in theatre was owned and operated by 20th Century theatres whose head office was located at 175 Bloor St. E. in Toronto. The Brittania was one of the companies most profitable theatres.
