The Pinson Theater was a small theater in the community of Pinson, Alabama. Little is known about it. The Waters Corporation owned a number of small theaters in the Birmingham, Alabama area during this period that had similar architecture.
There is a photograph from a newspaper clipping (cf. Birmingham News/Post Herald?) concerning a fire that took place there. It is known that the fire happenend in 1946 due to the movie that is playing. The type which can be seen notes that the theater opened the year before in the month of August, therefore it opened in 1945.
It closed in the late-1950’s and was demolished around 1962 to make room for a new grocery store in the shopping center that had been constructed around it.
