Located close to Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi in the heart of central Naples, it stands on the corner of Via Allessandro Poerio and Vico Nono Duchesca, across the street from the Cinema Argo.
Opened in around 1909, the Sala Iride was the first purpose-built cinema to be built in Italy. Today, like the Cinema Argo, the Cinema Iride operates as an adult cinema.
The name Sala Iride translates into English as ‘Rainbow Room’.
