it’s for sure it wasn’t open in 1967.
Need an address, more info and photos.
The one was located at 841 GA Hwy 129, Cochran. Its marked on topo maps from 1957 and 1964 but gone by 1977. The oldest aerial photo from 1981 shows nothing of the drive-in, it was farmland then and still is today. Probably closed in the mid 60s?
If the topo maps are accurate, the drive-in was located about 2 miles SW of the town at 802 GA-26, Cochran, GA.
The area in which the drive-in was located is overgrown with trees and has been that way since at least 1981. From the 1981 aerial, I can see the vague shape of the drive-in and entrance/exit roads.
Today, there is no trace of the drive-in remaining.
There are now aerial photos from 1957 and 1973 available and show this drive-in, so it was there for at least that period of time.
Why the name P & Z?
The 1957 aerial shows the drive-in without a screen. Perhaps it was being rebuilt as a widescreen, but there is no indications of any construction equipment on the site.
By 1973, the drive-in had totally disappeared under the trees.
I’d say this drive-in was closed by 1957 given how long it takes for trees to completely cover a property.
Now reverted back to farmland
