This second-run neighborhood theater was located in the Puerto Nuevo section of San Juan. Sometime in the mid-1970’s, it was renamed El Cinematógrafo and began screening art/indie films.

For those of you who don’t know, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico is an unincorpoated territory of the United States.
The address for this theater is 1178 Calle Cañada, Puerto Nuevo, PR 00920. I know this because my father and grandfather owned the building for 20 years or so since at least the early 1980s and ran a print shop supply business there. I recall that my father always referred to the building as the location of the old Teatro Corcelles because people were familiar with it as a landmark. Google Maps will locate this address at the intersection of Cañada and Constitución Streets. The building is the second one on the right along Cañada, north and east of Constitución.
