Sadly, all of Wehrenberg’s theaters was bought out by Wisconsin’s own Marcus Theatres. At Chesterfield Galaxy, they changed the Mega Screen into their own large screen format the Ultra Screen, completed with heated recliners. Next, they replaced all stadium seats with recliners as well, plus another set of heated recliners at the Super Screen (opposite from the Ultra Screen). They changed the banner at the entrance to “Marcus 14 Cine.” And soon, they’ll retire Wehrenberg’s name… forever. Sorry for the inconvenience.

This opened just in time for Christmas 2004. Grand opening ad in photo section (in COLOR!)

Best first run theater bargain in the region. $4 matinees, $7 evening. $1 higher for Mega Screen, $3 more for 3D. It’s worth the extra drive to save money.

The lighting fixtures seen were originally in the Ambassador Theatre downtown.

The Galaxy Cine 14 was designed by Rataj-Krueger Architects, Inc. There are a few photos on their web site. Don Rataj has been designing Wehrenberg’s theaters since 1987, when he drew the plans for a remodeling and expansion of the circuit’s Halls Ferry Cine in Ferguson, Missouri.

It is a cool cinema! I wonder if there is a way to get more data up? Like how many seats in the Mega Screen, etc.? I think it’s around 575 or so. The Mega Screen is cool, and they have two 4K projectors (I’m guessing one for 2-D, two for 3-D). The image there is sweet, especially for 3-D or for standard 1:85 films. When they go Cinemascope (2:35), the image does start to dim a bit, and you lose color depth and contrast.

The Mega Screen in there is really nice.
